- Ongoing routine track infrastructure and pavement inspections – frequency is in accordance with the Pacific National schedule based on freight volume and importance.
The inspections involve the identification, verification and reporting of defects, defect repair priority as per the Pacific National Standards and Procedures and the Lycopodium Inspection and Assessment Manual, risk mitigation options and defect close out. Reporting consists of a track certification form and a periodic infrastructure inspection report with a current defects list. - Detailed annual inspections which involves specific asset classes as per Pacific National Standards and Procedures to validate the asset configuration and its condition. This information is used to establish an ongoing maintenance service schedule and cost forecasting.
