Magino Gold Project

Americas, Canada
The Magino Project is a greenfield open pit and process plant development on the site of an historic underground gold mine that was intermittently active between 1935 and 1992.

The Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) undertaken by Lycopodium was for the intent to mine the deposit using conventional open pit mining methods and extract gold from the ore using a 30,000 tpd carbon-in-pulp (CIP) mineral processing facility.

The scope of work included the provision of engineering and study management services to prepare the metallurgy and process sections of a DFS and NI 43-101 Technical Report.

Process design, plant layouts and capital and operating costs were developed for 10,000 tpd and 30,000 tpd options.

Project features:
Open-pit mining using a single-stage SAG grinding circuit, with gold recovery by gravity and CIP
