Goliath Gold Project

Americas, Canada
This greenfield project consists of the construction, operation, decommissioning, and remediation of an open-pit and underground gold mine and associated infrastructure based on processing 2,500 tpd ore through a conventional carbon-in-leach (CIL) gold plant.

The aim of the optimization study undertaken by Lycopodium was to review previous work and develop throughput and cost scenarios for the project, with a view to establishing a strategy for a subsequent Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS).

The scope of work involved evaluating gravity, CIL and flotation processes to optimize plant design. Lycopodium also supported a tailings trade-off study, comparing conventional tailings disposal to filtering and dry stacking of tailings.

The scope of services also included completing engineering deliverables for the various process options to support the development of capital and operating cost estimates.

Project features:

Stable, mining-friendly jurisdiction and established infrastructure nearby including year-round road access, grid power supply, Trans-Canada natural gas pipeline, major industrial services in Dryden and workforce in surrounding communities.
