The project scope involved the construction of a 50% Caustic Soda storage terminal at Gladstone’s Fisherman’s Landing port facilities, including two 35,000 tonne capacity geotanks, pumping station, transfer pipelines to and from the wharf and a transfer pipeline to supply the nearby Orica Yarwun Site.
Lycopodium was the Principal Engineering Consultant and managed and coordinated the integration of interdisciplinary engineering design between Lycopodium and two other engineering service providers for the detailed engineering phase. Lycopodium provided the process, mechanical and piping detailed design for the Import and Export Lines, Pump Station, Transfer Line and Caustic Storage Area as well as the civil design associated with the trenching and underground horizontal directional drilling. Lycopodium worked closely with Orica and the construction contractor to ensure that engineering met the requirements of the construction program. Lycopodium provided construction management services, acting as the Owner’s Representative on site during the construction phase.
