Lycopodium was engaged as the process, mechanical and electrical/controls designer with Leighton Contractors as the constructor for the new Coode Island Bulk Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Liquid Storage Terminal in Melbourne.
Lycopodium was responsible for the detailed design and documentation related to the construction of the facility. The facility comprises 11 new product tanks up to 5.5 ML (some heated), ship loading/unloading facilities, road tanker filling stands, nitrogen inerting system, vapour emission control systems, fire protection, (water and foam) and emergency power systems, water and compressed air systems. Lycopodium’s scope also included the electrical, instrument and control systems, associated utilities reticulation, first flush drainage retention pits and various facility buildings.
The Coode Island construction features a number of capital savings gained for the client such as simplification of pipework as a result of operational studies carried out by Lycopodium.
