Lycopodium annually provides BHP with a 10-year live asset management plan (AMP) which ensures safe, sustainable and reliable rail operations at minimal life cycle cost. The AMP gives BHP the ability to demonstrate the effective management of rail safety, asset integrity, and statutory compliance, and provides long term planning direction and confidence within BHP’s budgetary constraints, ensuring effective risk management and corporate governance.
This is supplemented with a live preventative maintenance plan (PMP) which contains the maintenance strategy, a set of corrective and preventative tasks and the preventative maintenance service schedule.
Lycopodium additionally undertakes the preventative and corrective tasks outlined in the service schedule as well as project manage and oversee subcontractor delivered major periodic maintenance and capital upgrades.
The facility operates on 7.3km of track rated to 30-tonne axle load, with current railed tonnage of 18 million net tonne per annum. Assets along the route include rail, sleepers, trackslab, turnouts, bridges and culverts.
